Our primary services include user interface and user experience Design based on Google's Material Design System, front-end development using React.js & React Native, and back-end development using Node.js, Express.js, Postgres.

Our Work Style

Because we are a fully remote team, we benefit from the flexibility to work whenever, wherever, and however suits each of us best. This isn't a typical full time job in that we don't require team members to work 40 hours a week. We do track our time so that we can identify any time sinks but we don't use it for accountability. Aside from a few weekly scheduled meetings, your time is yours to use as you see fit. We will expect you to fulfill your commitments to the team within weekly/bi-weekly sprints and be considerate in how you request the time of other team members. We don't have much management overhead so you will need to be self-motivated and communicate proactively with the team to make sure you don't leave anyone hanging. It is unlikely that you will have much face-time with clients, unless that is something that excites you.

Job Description

We are seeking a disciplined JavaScript developer with exceptional React.js skills to join our team for a 2-3 month contract. We always start new hires on contract, but ideally this would lead to a sustained relationship.

If hired, your primary focus will be to develop front-end software and UI components based on best practices with JavaScript and React.js. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with project lead, designer, and back-end developer to deliver products that exceed expectations. Ideal candidates demonstrate a commitment to collaborative problem solving, maintainable code, and exceptional quality of service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop web applications and components using JavaScript and React.js
  • Produce user interfaces of exceptional quality based on project requirements and design documentation
  • Integrate with REST APIs and third party SDKs
  • Validate that software performs as designed by writing unit tests as needed
  • Ensure that components and overall application are robust and easy to maintain
  • Communicate proactively to keep team members informed about your work
  • Participate in scheduled video meetings
  • Use team collaboration tools as directed

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • Knowledge of React performance optimization and when and when not to optimize
  • Knowledge of best practices for application state management
  • Strong proficiency in implementing user interfaces based on design documentation
  • Experience building user interfaces with Material-UI component library or similar
  • Strong proficiency in responsive web development
  • Ability to provide reliable estimates of effort for requested work

Pay Range

$5,000-7,000 per month contract to start, commensurate with experience
