Job Description

We are looking to hire a UI Developer who can produce product wireflows, wireframes, high fidelity mockups based on pre-built UI Kits, and coded application views. Ideal candidates will have experience working with Sketch, Invision, UI Kits, HTML, and CSS. JavaScript and React experience are a plus. You will be able to make deliberate design decisions and to translate any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction. This position does not require the invention of new and unique design styles, but rather the implementation of layouts based on existing design guidelines from given UI kits, like Material Design, Bootstrap, etc…

This is a part-time, three month contract to start but we would love to find someone with an interest in joining our team permanently.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with client, project lead, and engineering to define and implement user interface layouts for client web applications
  • Creation, improvement and use of wireflows, wireframes, and clickable prototypes to effectively communicate user interaction ideas.
  • Implementation of approved visual designs using HTML, CSS, and JS frameworks and libraries
  • Understanding of rules, guidelines, and design principles of given UI kits and their limitations
  • Participation in weekly/bi-weekly sprint review & planning meetings
  • Proactive communication with team members
  • Use of team collaboration and time tracking tools

Requirements

  • Proven UI experience
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Solid experience in creating product wireframes, user flows, and mockups
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Experience with responsive web design and development
  • Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript
  • Be open to receiving objective criticism and improving upon it
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is a plus
  • React experience is a plus (we are willing to train for this)

Pay Range

$20-40/hr, commensurate with experience
